October 23, 2019: Hours of Service of Drivers – Application for Exemption

Kentucky Equipment Distributors, which is made up of 7 large machinery distributors operating in several state, submitted an application for exemption from the Hours of Service regulations. KED is seeking permission for their short haul drivers to be permitted to return to their original work reporting location within 14 hours of coming on duty rather than the normal 12 hours without losing their short haul status.
FMCSA is requesting public comments on the application. Interested parties may submit comments until November 22, 2019.
