October 4, 2019: Union Pacific Train Derails in Mesa, AZ

Thirteen Union Pacific rail cars derailed Thursday evening near the intersection of Broadway Rd. and Center St. The road was still blocked with overturned railcars on Friday morning. School officials in the area have planned alternative bus routes but residents are advised to be ready for delays.
The cause of the derailment is under investigation. No injuries were reported and no hazardous materials were on board the train.
