November 27, 2018: Revisions to Civil Penalty Amounts

The Department of Transportation has issued a final rule regarding the total amount able to be imposed under civil penalty for DOT regulations violations. This rule was made in accordance with the Federal Civil Penalties Inflation Adjustment Act Improvements Act of 2015 and will finalize the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s and the office of Secretary’s catch-up inflation adjustment interim final rule. The new civil penalty amounts will be effective as of November 27, 2018.
