Railroads are required to report all rail equipment accidents or incidents if they have a monetary value of at least $10,700. There will not be any changes made to the reporting threshold for the calendar year 2018 because it was determined that despite the increase in wages and equipment costs, the increase was not great enough to require the threshold to be changed. The final rule will be effective as of March 5, 2018.
