January 25, 2021: CSX Derailment in Ohio Caused Large Diesel Fuel Spill

A CSX freight train derailed in the Queensgate Yard in Cincinnati, OH overnight. A total of seven cars derailed on the CSX RR bridge that runs over Gest Street.
Approximately 1,000 gallons of diesel fuel was spilled during the incident before it was able to be contained.
Cincinnati’s sewer district activated the Millcreek Dam as a precaution in order to prevent the fuel from entering the Ohio River. CSX stated there were no injuries and no waterways were impacted. The cause of the derailment is currently under investigation.
