The Henrico County Police Department was notified around 2:45 am on Monday that a railroad employee had sustained fatal injuries at the CSX Acca Yard. The name of the employee and the details of the accident have not been released.
CSX issued the following statement on Tuesday: “Sadly, a CSX employee was fatally injured in the course of work on Monday, October 12. The entire CSX family mourns his loss. We extend our deepest sympathy to his family, friends and co-workers. The incident is currently under investigation.”
The National Transportation Safety Board, in cooperation with the Henrico County Police Department, is currently investigating the accident. No further details have been released at this time.
