A Norfolk Southern mixed-freight train derailed in Tuscaloosa, AL on Saturday afternoon. A total of seventeen cars left the track but only one car was breached. The leak caused a undetermined amount of vegetable oil to spill.
Norfolk Southern’s Hazardous Materials Team was on scene but it was determined that no hazardous materials leaked during the accident. The cause of the derailment is under investigation.
