June 30, 2018: Transport Canada Seeking Comments on Proposed Amendment to TDG Regulations

On June 30, 2018, Transport Canada published a proposed amendment in the Canada Gazette entitled “Regulations Amending the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations (Emergency Response Assistance Plan).”
The changes being made to the TDG regulations include clarifying the process for implementing an ERAP, adding additional requirements to the ERAP application process that will require an applicant to demonstrate their capacity and capability to respond to an incident, clarify the use of authorized users in order to reduce regulatory burden, making administrative changes, and to specify who needs an ERAP by aligning terminology with the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act.
Interested parties may submit comments on the proposed amendment until August 29, 2018. Comments should be sent to the following address:
